Default 014 4bolt block and 882 heads for 383 stroker project, feedback please

I picked up a 014 4 bolt main block that has the 400 crank in it, 40 over forged je pistons, comp cams 280H. Im not 100% sure on the rest of the parts yet, havent checked the parts yet but the motor was out of a crashed car and he used the heads on another project(so he says) We disassembled it yesterday and everything has been looking good. The heads I bought seperately are 882 casting heads that I plan on doing a slight port job and rebuild, maybe bigger valves. I wasnt planning on building this motor for my vette but I thought to myself why not, the 84 is pretty slow as is and a carbd 383 wouldnt be to bad.

Ive read up on the carb swaps for the 84s and it doesnt look to bad, few extra parts need to be bought, nothing too expensive. My question isnt really that much of a question its more of a reality check. In your opinion is this worth doing? I will have around 1000 into this 383 motor when done, will it increase the value of the 84 atleast that much? I dont plan on keeping the 84 forever, maybe another year. Would you just keep the stock 84 motor, get her to run right and call it quits? right now im having a few motor issues, nothing major mainly just idle quality and a slight hiccup at 2800 rpms but the miles are up there.

I have seen the value decrease because it is no longer original or close to it.

Well I have an 84 with 96 bumpers, its not exactly an original car. not knocking the crossfire because you can tune it to be a good system but man its annoying me right now and I know the crossfire cars get very little interest and are hated on from most of the community. Im not saying that a 383 carb is going to jump the value of the car alot but you arent going to take a stock crossfire motor car over a 383 if done right.
