Default Electric water pump

I was wondering, how do you find out what kind of belt you need when switching over to an electric water pump. Also I have an underdrive pulley set. Do I just buy belts and guess? Then return the wrong sizes?

If you have all the pulleys set up the way you want, pull the spring loaded tensioner pulley into it's operating position and stretch a string, rope, or better yet, a cloth measuring tape around the path the belt will run. That gives you the length. Most of a belt part number describes it's physical dimensions. Go buy the one you need, the first time.
