the average gain is about 30hp at the rear. It comes with everything you need but you might want to consider a better timing chain and a vented opti to go with the chain. But you definitely need those 3.73s to go with it. Lcvette has a dyno chart he had posted before that gave something like 371hp after installing his hotcam and a few other goodies.

Anyone else with an Automatic Hotcamed LT1?

its just an average, i'm sure the stick gets around 30-35 and the auto 25-30. I would think that with 3.73's or 4.10's you could get to it all with the auto.

Is timing chain something you NEED with an upgraded cam?
What's a good timing chain go for and what kind can should you get if you do choose that path?
Also...call me slow, but what's a vented opti? (price and type also)

Re: AUTO LT4 HOTCAM OWNERS CHECK IN (BowTieBlood)
id run a search on hotcams if i were you guys, you might find somethng you really like. A vented opti is just that, it has vents so moisture can get out and not fry the damn thing, its at least as expensive as a regular opti, $3-500? i dont know on opti's i have an older vette. A better timing chain is a good suggestion, as yours may have crud in it and it can take the stress of the new parts, i dont think you MUST have one but its a good idea.

Re: AUTO LT4 HOTCAM OWNERS CHECK IN (IcemanZ06)
As you can see I have an LT4 with an automatic trans Sorry to say I havent kept it together long enough to dyno. The trans upgrades were needed for the higher rpm and increased torque. First I broke two stall converters and kept glazing 3-4 clutches. Fixed problem. Then I shattered 2 yes two rear ends! Now it is back together. So I can only guess that it does put alot more power to the ground than before when it was practically stock ( which dynoed 279@wheels )

Mackey, how much did the conversion run you? I heard it was about $1500 for parts.

I'm doing the Dana44 install right now. Have to take a break to go to Sears to buy a couple of tools. I don't have a socket big enough to get the torque tube off the car!! Damn metric stuff all over the car. My tools from my older cars aren't much help with these newer vettes.
Anyway, I'll be into it for around the $1500 range when all is said and done. 3.45 gears....
