There are still free sites although you need to be extra careful so as not to fall into the trap of some scammers. If you have noticed, there are so many sites out there advertising Free Carfax or Free VIN Check or Free History Reports but the moment you run your VIN and try to view the report, they will ask you to pay.

There are several companies providing cheap car history reports. Carfax is the most popular but also the most expensive. You can use cheap alternatives like http://bit.ly/CHEAPCARFAX . It costs $5 but the information is just as good.

The guy wanted this information way back in 2002 (over 12 years ago).
I hope he found his answer by now.

Nothing like the speed of the internet to get the info you need.

This digging up old, dead threads stuff is starting to get out of hand. If people can't see or understand the date of the thread then MAYBE they shouldn't be driving any car much less a Corvette.

You know I actually didn't pay much attention to the first post except to see that it was for #1 coupe in '95 and responded to that with what I thought appropriate.

OUT OF HAND? I don't think so.

Years ago the search function of this forum was terrible and now it's one of the more efficient that there is depending on how one uses it. Poster #2 I see is certainly new and I have absolutely no idea how he stumbled upon the 12 year old thread BUT we were ALL NEW at one time.

My post was maybe intentioned to direct poster #2 to more appropriate sources than he had mentioned.

Should I maybe NOT be driving?

When I first saw your response I couldn't figure out how I had done a response to that. Then I looked at the time and I sometimes "stumble around" early in the AM so it is what it is.
