Default 1988 L98 Engine Question

I have an L98 from an 88 vette. It has no fuel injection unit or ecm. I would like to install a conventional intake manifold and carburetor. Would appreciate someone providing the best combination for this engine as far as brand of intake and carb as well as the cfm for the carb. The L98 is bone stock and will remain stock. Thanks for any suggestions.

I carbed mine in the past, but my 350 was built. I would go with a low profile dual plane manifold, Edlebrock and Weiand make them. You would probably want a 650 vacuum carb, Holley, Edelbrock make them.

Edelbrock Performer RPM and 600 cfm Edelbrock carb with electric choke.

(ignore the PO's throttle 'bracket'. It's been changed)

BTW.. You're are going to need a fuel pressure regulator to reduce the pressure down to 7 to 8 lbs.

question nobody asked
Is the engine going back into a C4 ? ( restricts intake / carb choice due to clearance problems)

Good point.

The OP will need a drop base air cleaner to maintain clearance between the engine and hood. Otherwise, he will need to cut a hole in the hood and add some kind of scoop. High rise manifolds would make it imperative that you do that because the hood will not close without one.

Also, be absolutely sure to put a phenolic spacer between the carb and instake, or you will end up with the fuel 'boiling' out of the carb on a hot day (after running it) which will make restarting the car a bear.

I was going to change my air cleaner to a drop base, but the PO already cut the hood and put on the scoop.

Actually, I'm thinking of switching back to the TPI since I already have the parts.(minus the cable bracket and harness)
