Super Ram to LT1 conversion swap (again)
I swap the intakes again, from a S/R to a LT1. The car pick up 2 mph and .2 et.. The LT1 help on the bottom, with the 60 ft, because I used a Cooper radial tire so the I wouldn't brake the rear. I just broke the 9" rear 3 weeks ago so I put the IRS back in. The car still went a 1.63-4 60ft and ran 11.9s all three passes. I need to tune for the intake swap now.

I grenaded the spider gears, one gear broke completely off the shaft and chip the gears, and broke the main cap for the 3rd member.
The setup is a 355 with 180 Dart Iron Eagles w/ 72 cc runners, comp. is about 10.1 (.100 dome piston) heads were mildly ported to flow 250 int. and 190 exh. @ .500 lift. A set of Hooker headers, 3'' exhuast with x-pipe and magnaflow mufflers with LT1 tips. A Crane cam is a GM 847 cam, 700R4 trans w/ 3000 stall and 3.73 in the IRS and I had 3.70 in the 9" rear. The tune was done by PCMforless. I put Weld wheels which reduce about 100lbs. I weighed it yesterday at Etown it weighed 3354 with me.

It took about 1 1/2 hours to take the S/R off. The pita were the fuel lines, I change them around to make them come out be the firewall. And as far as gaskets Felpro, I used the same one a few times with no leakage , but I replaced it with a new one this time.
I know that the car will run with a smaller cam, the dyno showed me that. The H/C cam made a little more hp and a lot more torque that the GM 847 cam, at the same rpms. I have a comp cam that a 282HR that I had in that engine when it was it the S15 pickup that made 320 at the rw. I been running this motor for 6 years now. I brought that H/C when I put the engine in the vette, and I had the 847 when I had the S15.
I hope to see you and Vic this sat. at Etown
