SuperRam + Vortec Heads/Base + Perfect Cam...
Maybe too early, but I want dyno/track info about anyone who has tried this. Is a true 400HP (@motor) or 320 RWHP possible with this?
Ralph has the baddest stock bottom end L98 I've seen on here. He runs mid 11's @ 115-116MPH with a wicked converter and slicks. The car has AFR 190's that are ported, SuperRam base and runners that are ported, and the LPE cam, and it costs $3500 (when all done) for just the heads, cam and intake setup.
I want to know how much less power a ported SDPC Vortec TPI base and ported Vortec heads can make with the perfect cam and TUNED! These heads I can get beefed up for the bigger cam (used) for $400 and another $400 for the base, $800 for the runner/intake setup, and about $400 for the cam. That's $2000. I'm hoping I can be a tightwad AND pull this power. Do I have to be the guinea pig?

Not really, that's the combo I'm going to go with VERY soon
GMPP Aluminum Vortec Fast Burn Heads
SDPC Vortec TPI Base
LPE SuperRam Plenum/Runners
BBK 52mm TB
GMPP LT4 HotCam
2400-2800 stall converter
3.07 gears with 26" tires.

Thanks Tim. I'll look forward to seeing your numbers as you tune it. I'm about 3-4 months away from gutting the top end, and I only want to do it once without being disappointed. Keep me posted!

This sounds like a very interesting combo. If my car was stock to start with this is the direction I would have gone.
TIMSPEED: Can you run the LT4 Hotcam in an L98? Are the LT1 cams the same as L98's?
