Default what is this engine? suffix code UKA

the suffix code on the place where they stamp the serial number is UKA. I have looked and only reference of this suffix is a 1981 350. However this is a TPI engine another thing is why isn't my VIN number stamped on the pad either?

By the way this is in my 1990 vette the suffix might even be VKA but I never came across a VKA searching.

Someone stole your engine;
the original 90 engine had your VIN numbers stamped on it and was factory coded ZSA , ZSB or ZSC.
Does your current engine have a roller cam?

That sounds like a factory identifier code. It's probably a GM replacement engine. Just what engine, I don't know.

I did another thread on this car I took the motor apart because of a suspected blown head gasket. However after pulling valve covers looked like a much lower mileage engine then the stated 189k on odometer. so I cleaned the pad and find no vin number on it and just a few letters in front of this suffix code.

it has felpro head and intake gaskets so it had to have had work done on it before I bought it.

just though the suffix code and missing vin number odd and wondered if anyone has ever seen this before.

Default Engine code UTA

I just looked it up @ Chevy small block identification codes, then go to small block suffix codes: it is an '81 truck motor w/con. cab, m/t, 2 bbl, used in C-30's and 3500's, and A.I.R. (emission language to me).
But that's not a bad thing altogether because it is almost sure to be a 4 bolt main engine.
I've got one here from and 80 truck, and it is a four bolt. Hope this helps, and doesn't dash your hopes too much.

BTW, there is no VTA, so the U is what it is, a U
OH, and the numbers are the date it was made, and the first letter is what plant it was cast in, such as Flint, MI.
You will see all of this at that site. Good luck.

Like I said though only problem with your searches is the problem I came up with. yes VKA comes back as a 1981 350. the problem there is this is a roller cam engine!!!!! and if it was a 1981 why is there no VIN number stamped on the pad. I am sure this is a 1 piece rear main seal engine as well.

so that disproves it as being a 1981 engine.

It either "IS THAT" or it's "NOT"! There are "NO SOLUTIONS" for "Something like this"!

There is a mistake in my original post. I typed UTA instead of UKA, but nevertheless, there are still NO VKA suffixes.
The first V = Flint MI. plant, the 0202 = second day, of the second month, and the UKA = as stated above, an 81 truck motor, probably a 4 bolt.
I stand corrected. You must be mistaking the U for a V, and even so, there are only four V suffixes on the chart, all of which are 305 motors.
I think I would prefer it to be a U. As far as it being a roller motor, are you saying Chevy style roller lifters, w/the stamped plate that keeps them from turning? Or is it a retro-fit roller, w/bars connecting adjacent lifters for each cylinder?

Whatever the letters are, that photo is definitely a Chevy roller block.

I checked and the 14093638 comes up as a 87-95 350 2 or 4 bolt main 1 piece rear main seal .... at least its not a 305 was kinda worried about that LOL. Now I wonder if it has a L-98 profile cam in it.

Even if it was an old truck block you can still get a retro fit roller cam into it.
