18x12 w/59mm offset, 335/30-18 combo...
covette-wheels.com (a forum vendor) just rolled out their new 18x12" rear set for the c5/c6z crowd with a 59mm offset.
From what i understand here are some comparisons for wheels for our c4's.....
17x9" with 50mm offset = 6.467" backspace
17x9.5" with 56mm offset = 6.95" backspace
17x11" with 50mm offset = 7.46" backspace
these 18x12" with 59mm offset = 8.32" backspace
anyone know "for sure" if these will fit? And would the wheel still be "within" the body line?
I "think" we should have room for the 18x12's.... because i have seen a few members get their 17x11's widened to 12" and still run them on a vette.
some "appealing" tire sizes....
315/35-17 = 25.4" outside diameter (typical zr1 size)
335/30-18 = 25.8" outside diameter 315 is also available.

I have 18x11's in a +59 offset with Michelin 335/30's. One side actually fit completely inside wheel well and the other stuck out, maybe half an inch due to the body offset of some of our C4's. I put a spacer on one side so the wheel would stick out and match the other side. With that said, a 12" wheel in this offset, will definetly stick out atleast an inch and emphasize any offset of your body. Get GS flairs if you do it. House of wheels selling these again? I too considered this.

This ought to give you some idea on fitament, keep in mind the car pictured is a ZR-1 not a regular Vette:

bam92- that's a serious combination you've got there. Do you have pictures of your vette' (engine by, blower, wheels, etc).
edit****
bam92- do you see any "rub" with the 335's?
locobob- I really like the wheels on the zr1 (the concept at least). They look great (if they had the correct offset). the zr1 in the picture is using the OEM size (19x12). And they are also using spacers... i am almost willing to bet that they would fit "just right" on a regular c4!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWAX%3AITThis is basically what my blower arrangement looks like but chrome alternator and polished a/c compressor and intake is red. I need to take some new pics as all of my old ones got errased when my computer picked up a bug. There is no comparison with the looks of the back of Vette with 335's. I can't get a shot of the rear good enough to explain that. Maybe rub some white powder on the tires for a low rear shot. That zr1 with z06 wheels needed a 23 mm spacer and for most, that is too much. I haven't rubbed yet, but my tires are soo close to my sway bar, I can't stick a finger between them.

What are the sizes on your Z06 wheels and tires?

Looking at your ZR1 tires I keep banging my head for installing 285/40ZR17
285/35ZR17 would have look much better.

briancunningham- I like your combo, but these "could" be a nice compromise between size and price. Definately less expensive than CCW's.
locobob- i didn't realize it was your ZR-1. Your comment now makes sense (as far as needing spacers to clear the back side of the wheel). By using 1/2 inch spacers, we're talking about sticking that wheel relatively far outboard.
although a set of 18x10.5's are also available with 17x9's for the front... this would cost significantly less ($500-ish on the auction block). At that price i wouldn't mind getting them widened maybe another inch just to squeeze 335's on them. the fit might possibly be more appropriate for a regular c4.

how are you guys clearing the fenders when the suspension is at full compression? don't you end up hitting the fender? (specifically for the guys with the wheel/tire combo just outside the body line).
