LT1/4 oil pan gasket: sealer or no?
Should I put any sealer on the one piece oil pan gasket - except for a couple of dabs of sealant in the corners, the rubber/silicone oil pan gasket looks like it was designed to be just fine without any other sealer. Through some long ago warranty work the pan had off, and was siliconed back on. Let me tell you, that silicone sealer made the pan about impossible to remove (but it did not keep it from leaking).

I've put a canton pan and a stock pan on 2 different L98s before. I used the factory method with sealant in the corners, and both have been bone dry so far. (One since December, and one since last march)
My dad has put a canton pan on his LT4 about 3 times now, and it has leaked by the factory method, sealant all the way around, and without sealant. But I think his troubles stem from a pan that isn't true in some way.
I would do the sealant in the corners. :seeya
