Default best trickle charger????

In Wisconsin you have to think ahead.

It will be in the thirties this weekend (nights).

Soon the "83" C4 will be in storage

Any tips on a simple effective trickle charger for winter????

THANKS from a newbie.

got mine at walmart. just make sure it is an automatic maintainer/charger. That way it automatically shuts off when the battery is charged. I also got one for my other car at autozone, but that one mounts on the inside of the engine bay and you run an extension cord to it.

I have this one and it works perfectly.

http://www.pacificbattery.com/batteryminder.html

It also desulphates the battery which is a plus. Read what it does. Don't know if their claims are true but my battery is perfect every time I go to start the car, no matter how long it has been sitting.

12 VOLT BATTERY BUTLER
Product Number:E-859 Price: $15.00
In Stock - Ships Next Business Day!

Quantity:

12 VOLT BATTERY BUTLER
Battery storage float charger is designed for the maintenance of 12-volt wet or gel cell batteries that are stored or only used periodically.
Features include:

Keeps battery fully charged without over charging. The on-board microprocessor regulates the output voltage of the charger based on your battery's demands.
Designed for long term vehicle storage. Hook up to your battery, plug it into any wall outlet, and forget it (days, weeks, months even years).
Provides a safe, regulated minimum current charge (1/2 amp) to your battery to maintain its peak capacity. Once your battery has fully charged, the charger's output current to your battery will stop - then resume as soon as battery level drops.
Short-Circuit Protected. If, for a brief moment, you accidentally touch the 2 leads of this charger together, it will not damage the charger's internal circuitry.
Includes simple to read status indicators.
Designed for use on wet-cell, gel-cell or OPTIMA batteries.

Working flawlessly for years

Bought a case of 12 off ebay for a better price per unit. kept 7 and sold the other 5 to friends looking for a better price. I had 7 vehicles (4 cars, 2 trailers, 1 truck) sitting in the garage killing batteries. I looked into the one that tends multiple batteries from one unit, but it only had a one year warranty. Go figure!

Check with your buddies, clubs, and co-workers and save a few bucks.

When I got mine about two years ago did research here on forum and Battery Tender Plus was top on most lists. Maybe there is better technology out there now, but Battery Tender has been a mainstay in this market.

I have 2 Battery Butler's and they been working great for 4 or 5 years now.

I bought 5 tenders at Harbor Freight for 6 dollars each a few years back. I have 1 on the lawn tractor during the winter months too. They all work nice, no surprises come spring.

I wired mine right to the battery and I ran the wire down to the front of the car, so when I want to put the car on the charger, I simply plug the male into the female. No hood opening, etc. It's easy.

Also, with this unit, you can plug four cars into this unit. No need to buy separate maintainers.

THANKS everybody. I'm SOLD on a Battery Tender Plus.

Bought one today. Now need some advice.

On an '84, all I have are the POS and NEG screw in terminals. No side connectors.

So what is the best way to permanently attach the Battery Tender's eyelets to those terminals???

This obviously isn't going to be plug and play

Could use some tips.

THANKS in advance for your help.
