Platinum Plus or RapidFire plugs in an '84??????????????
Anyone ever try these AC Delco specialty plugs???
I've noticed on my Harley these type of plugs foul less, provide quicker starts, a couple better MPG's and last forever.
Thoughts and experiences out there??????????????
Thanks Dave H. Appleton, WI

I've never tried them. My 89 came with Autolite plugs, and they were fouled as were the original plugs the PO gave me.
I put in some regular AC Delco and the base of the plugs rusted out after a month. So I pulled them and put in regular NGK plugs that don't rust.

NGK user here! It seems like A LOT of import vendors actually call for NGK's as factory equipment. They are also recommended for a lot of performance applications (in my example, a supercharger).
I'm able to purchase the iridium NGK's for relatively cheap $2.00-$3.00 each. Soem vendors want as much as $7-16/ea for these things though?
Anyway, my suggestion is to purchase a good quality plug, that you're happy with. A lot of feedback on this type of item will be heavily opinion based.

I put bosch platinum +4's in my '84 just had a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket! They work fine but I haven't noticed any difference between them and the old Delcos that were in there originally, I don't think it really matters....much.

I suffer from the same affliction...am running the +4's also.....Bosch was running a $3 rebate per 2 plug pack purchase. If there is a difference I can't see it other than the wallet being a little lighter now.

I put a set in my Father-in-laws car last weekend. The car
ran better, but the oem bosch plugs had 116k miles on them.
Anything would have helped. benny
