Default brake upgrade ideas for '84

Any recommendations for a brake upgrade for an '84?

I plan to have 300+ hp when I'm done with the car.

I'd recommend getting 85-87 front spindles and doing a C5 upgrade (adapter brackets, C5 calipers and rotors).

Or I'll sell you the J55 front brakes off my 84.

Hit the search. This is a common topic.

What I found is the uniqueness of the '84, having smaller flanges and bolts for caliper mounts. Adapter plates will fit but hardly anyone will recommend drilling those holes larger to accommodate larger brakes.

SubtleZ is right, and everyone has their opinion/budget and wishes, but in street driving, I doubt that this minor change will truly matter. Okay.... let the flames begin.

That said, perhaps Hawk pads will do the trick, depending on what you plan to do with the car.
