Anyone ever by-pass their VATS ?
My 91 keeps shutting down and won't start. Talked to a few people and thier suggestion was to install a resistor off the ignition that matches the resistance in the key so the car will always "think" that its ready to go. Naturally, the car will no longer have an anti theft system in it, but I don't care. What do you think?

I would get the vats by-pass unit from Ecklers http://www.ecklers.com/search.asp?ac...&searchHistory=
it takes 5 minutes to do, and you never have to question if it's that or not when you have a problem. They all go bad, and they go with the on again, off again symptoms that will drive you crazy. Then just add a kill switch and hide the button somewhere, that's the best anti-theft anyway. The 3 big Vette parts houses have the by pass unit and give directions, just choose the one with the directions you understand best.
Both jobs are easy to do yourself, or pay a mechanic 1 hour to do both.
Do yourself a big favor and get the by-pass, if it's not that now, it WILL be later.
