Default LT4 Hot Cam

Hi I have a 1989 corvette with a 350 TPI (L98) and I wanted to put a cam in it. My main question is that if I replace the valve spring with LT4 valve springs and stick an LT4 hot cam in it do I have to change any thing else (such as something vitale that the engine will not run properly without.) I know that 1.6 rockers would be nice but they are not manditory, right? I am thinking of things more alonge the lines of lifters, rods, etc.

i'm running the LT4 HOT cam in my L98 with 1.5 RR, and it's fine. I am using aftermarket heads, but I think that may be beside the point.

I did change the pushrods since I went with guideplates and non-self-aligning rockers. another tangent.

to answer your question I think, no, the 1.6 RR are not mandatory.

With 1.5 rockers, the lift is .492. The cam will work, but I don't know if the LT4 springs will fit your heads. (diameter may be why) I'm sure there are after-market springs that will work.

A new computer-tune would kick it up a notch, too.

No, nothing vital, just recommended. 1.6s are optional but the complete kit is recommended and the springs in the kit will fit.

Recommended: Best to go with non-self aligning rockers with guide plates and hardened pushrods.

I"m running a cc502 cam in mine (91 L98) 218/224 .495 .502 lift.
It is similar to the ZZ4 with 1.5 rockers and also have the ZZ4 hot
cam springs good to .525.
I am using scorpion 1.5 rockers. I went with non-self aligning
hardened push rods and guides because it was a lot cheaper
and seamed to be a better setup to me.
I can round up some part #s if you are interested.
