Default HELP! Security system on 1990 coupe

My alarm system went off and I can't start the car. I had a new key made, but it didn't help. Is there a way to bypass the security system so I can start the car? Maybe pull the fuse? Also, I can not find the second fuse box with that fuse...anyone know where it's located? I had plans to use the car this weekend.

This happens to me some times. Try this, not saying it's going to work for you but, shut the door, lock the door with your key, wait about five minutes, then unlock the door with your key and see if it starts now.....*keeps his fingers crossed*

ok you are going to laugh. :D but i had the same problem. i pulled the top fuse turned the key in the ignition then pulled the key out, put back the fuses back. and the car turned on. it's either that or unlock the driver side door a few times. if you are superstious after it start hang a few chicken bones under the steering colum. but that's me. told ya you'd laugh but it did work

Thanks for the info. The door lockin thing worked, but I need to know where the fuse box is with this fuse. I know where the big one is (passenger side dash, by the door) but the small one with the security/horn fuse is located somewhere else....do you know where? That way I have another way to solve the problem if it happens again.

Thanks again,

Stephanie

I'm not really sure where that one is, I could be wrong, but it might be under the hood somewhere. Do you have your manual? But this shouldn't happen to often. If so, the door locking and unlocking thing should work every time.

I think the fuse you are looking for is under the passenger side dash kick panel. There are about 6 fuses in one long block. You have to remove the carpeted panel under the glove box to get to it.

I am not sure what years had it, but a 94 I worked on had a small fuse block with about 5 or 6 fuses in it under the hood around the battery. If I am not mistaken it was between the battery and the firewall. Look around and you may find it there, its black and has a plastic cover usually taped on. Good Luck
