Default Help prepping the deck for head installation.

What to use to clean the surface?
What not to use?
Any helpful advice?
Thanks again,
Jeff

Wipe the deck down with rubbing alcohol real good and let it dry. That will get all of the oil and dirt off.

I used a puddy knife and then a very fine sanding block (gently) to get the mineral deposits off from around the cooling holes. actually my dad did it, he has done fine polishing of powder metal tooling were .0001" is critical, therefore I was not worried. Its cleaned them really good. I then took acetone and wiped everything very well. Just make sure when you rub your hands across the surfaces, there are no high/low spots from deposits or gaskets. It needs to be VERY clean. Good luck
