Coming off the jack stands tomorrow!!
After 15 months up on the Race Ramps (front) and jack stands (rear) the 94 is coming back down and is ready to hit the pavement! I am so excited to be able to take her for a drive again.
This all started with two bad rear hubs. Before I knew it, I had taken the car apart. Removed the rear suspension, the differential, the tranny, the clutch, and the clutch hydraulics. I installed two new hubs, new universal joints, replace all the bushings in the rear suspension with Poly bushings. Also installed a new clutch, pilot bearing, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, repaired damage from years of leaky batteries, installed ZF Doc's Beam Plates and a ton of other little things.
Tomorrow, well actually later today, I will re-install the exhaust system, rear wheels and drive her for the first time since early 2009! I will post some pictures.
She is also very dusty and needs a bath! WOOHOO!!!
Oh yeah, In spite of my concerns. I reconnected the battery and she turned over and started on the first turn of the key! That felt great! Open headers were beyond loud. Got the neighbors attentions! Ha!
Here are a few of the before pictures.
A picture of one of the worn out rear hubs. Note the red rust like dust that was spewing from the rear hubs! 118k and they were goners!
Taking it apart! Note that the sway bar link bushing was completely gone! It crumbled in my hand! That is what started the suspension bushing R&R!
ZF DOC beams Plates. Made install of the C-Beam lots easier!
Dana 44 out and down for some rehab!
The first step with the poly bushing install!
The little shop press I bought from Harbor Freight. It made this project much easier and it was worth every bit of the $129.99 I paid for it!
Will post some "after" pics later!

YES 15 months! Time flies when you hare having fun!
I am a working stiff and I have too many other hobbies! I was making good progress last year until it got really hot. Then I got focused on preparing for a hunting trip. Spent my vette budget on some equipment and then started training to hunt in the mountains. Then september rolled around and I took off to Colorado for 12 day to hunt. Our falls get crazy around here! Off to The University of Georgia for a Parent's Weekend with my wife and daughter. More hunting trips and more College Football games...
Winter down here got unusally cold. I got back on track in March. June got really hot and I fought through those 100 degree days in the garage. No AC out there. On top of all that was the fact that the vette budget is limited! Like most of you, I had to slowly buy the parts I needed and worked on the car when I could squeeze it in! An hour or two at a time. Plus I am one slow-slow mechanic!
Actually, looking back, I am pleased that it is nearing completion and not stalled and sitting under a coverin the back yard like so many project cars. So easy to take them apart, much-much harder to put them back together!

She is on the road again!!!
Realized I had to make an adjustment to my rear spring as I had the aluminum spaces on incorrectly. Fixed the spacers. Installed exhaust. Installed spare tire tub. Installed wheels and tires. Cleared all the tools out from under her and threw it all up on the work bench. Lower the rear. Took her for a ride and she feels like a new car! I am very pleased with the results, however, the proof will come with a longer drive next weekend but the new clutch hydraulics worked perfectly! The rear suspension feels nice and tight. Corners great!
Now I have to get the AC sorted out!
She got a nice bath today too! I am amazed at how small this car is. For months she was up on jackstands and she seemed to be the size of a 1970's era Cadillac. Not that she is down she barely comes up to my waist.

1. Sort out my AC issues...
2. Get a better tune on the car. Running rich right now...
3. Interior cosmetics.
Woohoo! Always something!
