Default fuel pump wires

Does anybody know what color the power wire is to the fuel pump? I wrote it down somewhere when I had it out, but can't find it. Black is grounded, there is a brown wire and a pink wire. I do not have the original wiring harness. Trying to get this thing test fired after all these years.
Thanks,
Jim

That's interesting! My '84 FSM (I think Jim84 has an '84) shows the pink as going to the fuel gauge sending unit! Applying 12 v. to the sending unit would destroy the sending unit! Jim, that's shown in your FSM on pg. 8A-63. My FSM is a Gold Mine of info!

My FSM shows the power wire to the FP to be yellow. I haven't looked at the wires in my '84, so I'm puzzled by your question. You should be able to confirm the correct wire by checking the continuity from your FP fuse (right end of instrument panel) to your FP wire, or by confirming 12 v. on the wire when you first turn on the ignition (about 2 sec.).

Don't know for sure on 84, but pink/purple should be the fuel gauge sensor wire.

I have a Haynes book. No wiring either, just the plug at the end of the fuel pump assembly out of the tank.
Thanks
