Glad to see you haven't given up on your's, like I did mine. I've been regretting it for a while now.

It'll be a few years before I can get another one.

I'll be checking in on this thread more often now.

Adding a FAST system, MSD 6A, and (required by FAST) Dual Sync Diz (small cap)

Wires are fun.

System is in, car is driving. It's FAST. A lot faster than my Park Avenue! Lol!

I'll try to get a video of it up soon

If you look closely you can see black paint flaking off my headers. VHT should rename their company VSP for very s----- paint.

I tried searching this post to find out how you handled the timing chain & gear set.... timing cover.... and water pump interference issue but nothing came back. Can you provide the combination of water pump, timing chain cover, and timing chain set you used ? (I assume you have a roller cam)

I'm trying to find a good TC set that works with the stock cover & water pump on a 87 but all I can find is junk.

I will try to get the info for you, but the timing chain I didn't buy if I remember right. Pr0zac sent me a can and the timing chain (if I remember right)

My water pump did interfere with my ac bracket, I used 3(maybe more?) washers behind the bracket to gain clearance. My pulleys all line up pretty straight this way.

I'll try to get you pics

Just read this whole thread from the start and damn, you have done really well.

Now that it's running you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor and suffering.

Your new house looks really nice; the garage is much nicer and cleaner (for now lol).

I've often pondered building a 383 for my car, having built a lot of engines in the past but never a 350 for some reason. It's really cool to see how members here pulled for you and helped you out with parts, tools, advice and so on to keep you going. It would've been a lot tougher for you without this forum. Hell, it would've been easy to give up. But then again, you'd have a Corvette in your garage just taking up space, and that would be a crime!

Big time props to you for doing this. The install looks good. Looks like you replaced the alternator bracket your neighbor made, as well. While it was really cool of him to do that for you, it looks more sano (my word for sanitary when describing installs) the way you have it now.

Thanks!!

This thing is so much fun. Not that it wasn't before, but it's a rocket now. 0-holy crap happens a lot faster than it used to!

Still sorting things out, gotta wire up the A/C, went through an episode where the Tail fuse kept popping randomly, snapped a rocker stud (they were stock, and too short for my application) And now the wiper motor took a crap. The fun never ends! Lol

Can you post some details about the fast system you used? How did you tie it into the digital dash? Did you lose the mileage functions?
