The 87 Vette I'm working on throws MAF sensor burn off codes..located the two relays behind the battery. Since they are both part # 14089936 - I just switched them and the MAF does the burn off process when shut down, put them back in their original location..no burn off. Obviously a bad relay....

Which relay of the two is the burn off relay? One towards outside of vehicle or the inner one. I don't have a wiring schematic to look for wire colors.

this is a lame answer , but replace them both, they're probably the same age and may go bad shortly after each other.

The mass burn off relay has four wires, two orange wires and a black and dark blue wire on its socket, the mass burn off control relay has five wires, dark blue, orange, red, purple, and black/white.

On my 87 the burnoff relay is the one that was harder to get at.

Thanks guys...FYI..there are both hard to get at without removing the battery
