Default 92 700r4 wiring question on non lockup

Hey guys, I just installed a 92 700r4 tranny with a non lock-up converter, I only have one 12volt hot wire coming down (no computer) should this thing be wired differently? the car is an 84 and was modified before for a non computer lock up tranny im sure the guy who rebuilt the 92 tranny wired it stock. Not sure what I gotta do thanks.

Just hook up the speedo sensor connector and you'll be good to go. If you don't have a lockup converter, you don't need to hook any other wires up.

Sweet, was wondering about 4th gear shifting or whatever but I guess it's all pressure, thanks!

Right, the tranny shifts all by itself by the governor signal. I converted my 84 from a 4+3 to a 700r4, then to a 4l60e so I've been there. Willie

Yes I did. I've got a standalone TCI computer. Works great. Part throttle and full throttle shift points can be set with the laptop. Great for consistancy for bracket racing. Just put it in drive and go. For the lockup I used/use a switch on the console and manually ground the tcc switch so I have lockup when I want. It's like a fifth gear. At the track, I lock up the converter after the 1-2 shift. Good for one and a half tenths. Willie
