Default externally balanced 383 and 6sp flywheel?

Can I have the existing flywheel balanced (dynamically) for less than it costs to replace with new? How do they do this ?

If I buy a Balanced 383 (400 style) flywheel ($400) is it really balanced or "balance-able"

Any recomendations

Because of all the differing parts available, it would probably be best to give this to your balancer and let him make recommendations. They balance a flywheel just like the tires on your car. Spin it up, find where metal needs removed and either machine or drill out what's necessary. If you want externally balanced it's best just to give everything tho the shop doing the balancing. You wouldn't want a balanced flywheel on an externally balanced engine. Good luck.

If youre trying to run the 400 balancer you could run into fitment issues.
Not sure on the FW balance. have it all done in one shop. Prebalanced pieces
