Rack-pinion input shaft leak repairable?
Motor is out, but ready to replace.
We have located the source of the leaking ps fluid. The input shaft to the rack n pinion unit is giving up fluid freely.
Is this repairable by simply replacing an "o ring", or is the dismantling of a removed R-P unit too large of a PITA for an average shade-tree'er.
R-P unit does not seem to indicate excessive play when checked by hand. Would like to minimize $ amount spent.
If there is an in-expensive repair, if so what is it?
Again, all the ongoing tech support has been wonderful.
Thanks,
Darrell.

I'm a pretty hardcore shadetree'er and mine started to do the same thing. I'm sending mine off for a complete rebuild. Turn One steering in Saginaw, MI is going to do it. They are also getting my pump for a rebuild and some modifications for racing. Cost is $200-$250 pus shipping.
He also puts every rack he rebuilds on a rack dyno. It's all tested and ready to go when you get it back.
