Default Managed to cloose a hood that's not aligned, now it's stuck

I have renovated my engine this fall. But when i refitted the hood i forgot to align it. Today when i was going out to break in the new engine i closed the hood. And of course it's stuck on the left side.

The opening mechanism is working fine. I have also tried to pull the wires harder but it wont help. The hood is probably misaligned by almost 1/4" so i guess that the lockpin is probably interfering with the lock housing.
Could really need some good ideas on what to do here. even though i think that the solution in the end is more or less violent

Have you tried having a helper pull the lever inside while you tug on the corner that is stuck?

I agree -
Sounds like this will not work -

Try this:
1-Jack car up,
2-remove wheel on stuck side
3-remove plastic wheel housing to access bolts that hold the pin in place.
loosen bolts - hood opens, you should be able to access one or two bolts from the top if the hood pops up a little.
Be patient - this will work!!!
I have been there.

I've been there also. Never felt so stupid in my life. Ended up taking it to a friendly dealer with a great body shop. They knew exactly what to do (I apparently was not the first), they took it into their shop and came out 10 minutes later with the hood open and properly adjusted. All at no charge. I think they just liked looking at the car! Not sure how they got it open so fast.
