oil pan gasket replacement
Hey all, I am looking at replacing my oil pan gasket myself. Does the cross bar have to be removed in order to get the oil pan down and out? The fsm says that the one of the cats need removed also. Has any one done this and how big of a job am I getting myself into and about how many hours to do. Any advice will be appreciated, Thanks brent317

"Cross bar"
Removing the diagonal frame braces helps. If you try to remove what I think you're talking about, you'll have the whole front suspension cradle sitting on the ground.
Best advice:
Tons of threads on this topic.
If you know what your doing, this takes about 2 hours. If you don't....could be 8 hours or more, with the primary challenge being the reinstallation of the pan.
Frankly, and with your best intentions in mind, you may be better off paying a shop 2 or 3 hours of labor.
