Default Steering

When I turn the wheel from a park position or going really slow and turn the wheel, I have load clicking noise in the engine compartment. I'm assuming it's something to do with the steering column or tie rods?? :chevy

Could be intermediate steering shaft.....the one that runs from the firewall to the steering rack. I'm not sure on your year model, but the earlier C4's were prone to problems in this unit. I had the exact same symptoms, and it turned out that the plastic injection that connects the two sections of the intermediate shaft had become brittle and was allowing play between the two sections. New shafts for my 84 weren't available, so I had a machine shop drill and install a hardened steel shear pin to make a solid connection between the two shaft sections.....problem gone.

Have someone slowly turn the steering wheel with the car off and you listening under the hood to isolate the source of the noise. Look at this shaft first....I bet it's the culprit.
