Default what hiflow cats are best for lt1 exhaust?

Does anyone use high flow cats on their lt1 exhaust?

If so, which ones do you use?

Are these weld up to stock exhaust or flanges?

The factory LTx cats actually flow very well for stock units. IIRC, the factory cats attach directly to the exhaust manifolds and one outlet is a slip-fit to the exhaust and the other side is a bolt-on flange.

Most aftermarket high-flow cats will require cutting off the old cats and welding in new ones. And most muffler shops will not remove a cat that is working even if you are replacing it with a different version. If they would get caught, they could face a 5-figure fine from the feds.

Since my 92 is now considered "Historic" in my state, cats are no longer required. (no more inspections or tailpipe sniffing)
When the time comes, she will be getting stainless long tubes, cat delete, an x-pipe, and as yet undetermined SS mufflers.

Hmm. I hadn't heard of those ones. Random technologies were the ones I had in mind. I wonder if the 3" version could mount up to my long tubes (3" collector) and then be reduced to the app. 2 3/4" of the stock exhaust

But have they gone up in price. 6 years ago, I paid 69.00 each. FWIW I mounted mine where the resonator was. With a automatic, not enough room to get them directly off of the header.

I use Random Technology bullet cats with my headers and Corsa exhaust.

Pic of cats attached to the pipes that link the headers to the exhaust...
