Default Best way to burp the cooling system?

Can anyone give me some advise on the best way to burp the coolant system?

I usually fill the flowover tank with 100% antifreex to the max mark and completely fill the radiator with 50% / 50%. Then I start the car with the radiator cap off and fill the system once the thermostart kickes open. Then I cap it off and let the car run until it get's to right at 195 -200. Once cool I top off the radiator again.

If you have an LT1-4 there is a bleeder screw on top of the t-stat housing. Don't know about an L98.

On my L98, I fill the radiator with 50/50, make sure the overflow is filled to max with anti-freeze. Leave the rad cap off and start engine. Once the engine gets to the stat temp and the stat opens, I rev the engine by hand to about 2-2.5k rmp and slowly fill the rad with anti-freeze until it is full and cap the radiator. Let her cool, and repeat if necessary.

Thanks guys! I have an L83 which does not have the bleeder screw, but it sounds like what I have been doing will do the job. A bleeder screw mod may be in my future the next time I am in the coolant system.

Have a good one!

Park it on an incline to help the air bubbles move around. ~Juliet

I learned to park with both right wheels on the curb when bleeding the radiator. Fill it, run it and then top off. Seems to work as long as the filler is higher than the top of the core. :seeya :seeya
