Default Re-installing current fuel rails and injectors? 96 LT1

I have removed the fuel rails and injectors to install a new intake manifold gasket on a 96 LT1. My question is on the re-installation of the injectors and fuel rails,

My injectors are still attatched to the rails, never took them off there. I have new "O"-rings for the bottom of the injector(s) where it goes into the intake manifold.

Can I re-install them in this configuration? Or, do I need to break them loose of the rails, install into the manifold FIRST, then install the rails on top?

Or simply work the injectors (while attached to the rails) into the intake manifold. Lubed with soap, and being carefull not to damage an "O"-ring.

I am NOT replacing the injectors. Just "re-installing" them.

My searches on the forum have only turned up replacing injectors with new.

HELP!

This is the method I use. Just work them in slowly.

put a little oil on your fingers and get the new seals slick, it will make the install a snap

That's what I used to do when installing the fuel transfer tube on Holley carburators back in the day.

I just put my fuel rail back on without any lube. It resisted a bit, but I think it was due more to the injectors being turned the wrong way. Once I installed it and they were lined up right, I took it off and put it back on again (forgot something) and the injectors slid right in that time.

YES, this works very well. Much easier than I was anticipating.

(if only doing a power steering rack was this easy I'd be set! )

Agreed

But I actually stand in the engine compartment with one foot on each tire so I can press down on both rails with equal force - have to be careful but makes the install a cinch.
