In the old days - when the vendors hawked performance coils, low temp fan switches and throttle body air foils in Capital Letters on the front pages of their catalogs - color of the Pickup Coil wires and Coil had to match. They were used to identify polarity. If it had Yellow on the Pickup, the Coil had to have a Yellow. If the Pickup was clear or black, the Coil could be anything but Yellow. You bought your performance accordingly, and seemingly all of these hp wonders at once. Modules weren't in the picture. That's all I know (or remember).

Thanks for the inside look at the spark module. I have been taking things apart since I was a young boy and I am also an EE.
If the circuit diagram of the module is learned, I am interested in seeing it!
