Default Symptoms of bad MAF Burn-Off Module

Hey everyone

I have a 1985 Corvette and just learned yesterday that only the 85's have this MAF Burn-Off Module located behind the dash pad (not that I took off the dash pad yet because apparently it's a real pain in the butt?)

Can someone tell me the symptoms of a bad MAF Burn-Off Module? My check engine light does not come on (it works though), and my car doesn't die when running. But it idles funny sometimes. After the car has been running for a few minutes, the idle jumps up and down and it's very annoying. I changed the IAC recently too.

Is it possible that the MAF Burn-Off Module needs to be replaced? Any information/input would be appreciated, as I know these aren't so easy to find at a good price.

Thanks!

The burn off module is only to clean the maf sensor by heating up the thin wire to burn off any contaminents.. I don't believe this module could cause the engine to hunt. If you already replaced the IAC, the next thing I would check would be to see if you have any vacuum leaks..WW

IAC, Idle air control? Could I take this off to clean it without messing something up?

When I purchased my 1985 corvette it would barely run.It was missing rough idle. My burn off module was bad. I got a used one plugged it in and my can ran like new. Hope this helps

TPS? They will or will not throw a code if it acts up. Search the symptoms for a bad TPS.

When my tps went bad the other day it would jump to 1400 rpm or higher then finally go back to normal. After it did that a few times at a drive thru it lost 1/4 of the gas pedal about 4 miles down the road.

The burnoff module also powers the MAF, so it could be a factor when the engine is running.

Yes, two relays starting in 86. 85 is unique.
