The 1990 L98 is 250hp, 345 ft/lb (I think). No it is not an LT1, the LT1 began in 1992.

250 HP and 350 ft/lbs Tq in the coupes
245 HP and 345 ft/lbs Tq in the convertibles. The drop tops were reportedly less because of one of the muffler outlets being a dummy tube. This was done to reduce noise a little. Or so the stry goes.

Well your all sorta right. I know cause I ordered mine in 1990 and these are the numbers. The Base L98 in 1990 made 245 HP, but if you ordered the High perf, rear (3.07 gears), you got a less restrictive muffler and an oil cooler as part of the package that then rated the car at 250 HP. But you will notice that the console sticker that Eklers sells for a 1990 is only the 245 HP one.

Dunno about if that exact quote is in the Gm service manual but that piece of info is definitely in "The Corvette Black Book" by Michael Antonick.

Hehe, you don't have to look know. :D

Default Re: (Red 90 L98 Coupe)

Per the Corvette Black Book, the '90 L98 was "245 hp (except coupes with 3.07:1 or 3.33:1 axle ratios wich increased from 245hp to 250hp because of their less restrictive exhaust systems)." So all conv are 245 hp. Only selected coupes have 250 hp.

would i improve flow by changing out my mufflers to dual flow, would that equal a little more horses also? so 1 tube is for noise control ! TIA guy

My convertible has 3.07rear, an oil cooler and the mufflers had both sides open. Did it still come 245/345 factory, not that it matters just wondering. :D

The 250hp was only on coupes with the performance axle. So your conv would be 245hp.
