OBD Code 32 and 45
I've got a EGR and rich problem. They could be related.
The service engine light comes on sporadically.
I plugged the EGR vacuum line and the light still came on after a short drive.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,

The light comes on (code 32) because the EGR system is NOT working.
At cruise the ECM commands EGR and then checks to see if anything changed. On the older cars it looked for an EGR temperature switch closure. The newer cars don't have an EGR temperature switch (it was eliminated around 1990 -- not sure on the year). I dont' know how it checks -- I think it looks for an change in the O2 sensor output. Could be a MAP change. I just don't know. Somebody with knowledge of the later system needs to post on this.

Interesting. I'll put a vacuum on in while idling to see if it opens.
The light does go out on it's own. It mostly happens at lower RPM steady speed highway cruising.
