1989 Brake Upgrade
I have a damaged rear rotor on my 1989 C4 and felt it was a good time to look at a brake upgrade. I was looking at a system from MidAmerica that has some upgraded components from Baer brakes.

I was interested in a 6 piston setup but can't find anyone who has done this and retained the stock wheels. Is this possible or should I go with something like the link above?

Guess no one has done a 6 piston upgrade with stock wheels... spoke to the guys at Baer and they think it could be done but I'd have to add spacers. The width of the caliper would hit the stock wheel.

I looked on their website and don't even see those 6 piston brakes for C-4's only C5's and C6's. Maybe they don't carry them anymore? That post is over 4 years old. They have a phone number but no e-mail.

Call or send an e-mail to Baer. They are really nice people and will help you with your selection options. If you talk to them directly they'll even custom powder coat calipers and things like that.

Yeah, I spoke with them, but the 6 piston caliper they sell would hit the stock wheel. It fits in the rim of the 17" wheel but would hit the face of the wheel.
I could add a spacer but it would stick out further of course. I want to try and retain the stock appearance of the car and not have to resort to custom wheels.
