Mystery wire: What is this audio cable?
Hi all. I just did the digital climate control fix that I learnt about here. (it worked a treat btw).
Anyway, while removing the necessary panels I found this loose cable. What is it for?
Everything is back in and working. I am guessing it is from the original Bose radio from my 94. The PO put an Alpine unit in. Thanks.

That's a USB "Standard A" cable and it probably connects to your Alpine head unit. Those didn't exist circa 1994. I bet it is there for MP3 player connectivity to the head unit.

Would that be seperate from the ipod cable? My ipod is still working, and that cable is not plugged into the radio, or does that end go into an mp3 player?

My Garmin GPS has a power cable that has an end like that.
Where does the other end of that cable go?
As mentioned, some USB devices also use that style connector on one end.
You just need to find out where the other end of the cable is connected too.
It is not a factory cable for sure.

It disappears behind the radio and I couldn't be bothered to pull the radio out to check. Could it be a sirius radio connector? Anyway, I was just curious, it's all back together now and working beautifully so I just left it tucked back there! Sloppy, I know
