Default 94 Digital Climate Control

Just wanted to say a big thanks to those who have taken the time to describe how to fix the issue where the buttons stop working on the climate control. After running a search on here I found a thread that described how to remove the head and clean the circuit board with a pencil eraser and rubbing alcohol. Now works perfectly.

It always helps when you search for a fix and find it quickly.

Default 94 digital climate control

Tried looking for the thread regarding the "pencil eraser and rubbing alcohol" with no success. Did see one with resoldering the contacts. Can you point me in the right direction ASJWALSH?

It worked for me too on my '94.

If anyone else is looking for how to do it, see the following link.

Good luck

Just ran into this post and I plan on doing this to my 95, but should I disconnect the negative cable of the battery when performing this procedure? Did you disconnect your negative rom the battery?

Anytime you are working on anything electrical or engine related, it is "recommended" to disconnect the battery.

In this case, you will be unplugging an electrical connection to get the module out of the car.
When I did mine, I didn't disconnect the battery and nothing bad happened.

BUT, there is always that possibility.
That is why step #1 is all the manuals is to disconnect the battery.

I did unplug my battery just cos the fsm said to do it. It's only two minutes to do it and then a few more to reconnect and reprogram the radio channels.
It's still working beautifully.
