IMO, If you are going to buy new injectors, buy bigger than you need right this min. If you are modding the car now, you'll be modding it more later. You can control the duty cycle of the injectors with a tune. Also if you are changing injectors, change the regulator too.

Your going to run a 235/240 cam under a stock (ported) 85 long-runner TPI intake?

That's one heck of a cam for a 350 with a tpi. I'm using a smaller one for my 406 with a SuperRam and run mid to low 10's with a .435 rear gear.

I wouldn't change the injector size without further study. Check the BLMs and see how much they have moved with the modified setup. If they're not too far out then you don't need to change injector size. If you crash up against the limit, then is the time to change injectors.

Nick,

I am using 24 lb injectors on the 85 with a lift close to yours. Your heads are fairly large for what you are using. It is the tune that can dial in your injectors. The chip that I loaned you should have got you close.

I'm hoping it's a heavily ported FIRST or Superram...with that much cam.

Or maybe SLPs w/o any runner wall left?

Injector size isn't the only part you should match in a build.

I used 42lb injectors and my tuner tuned them to my set up on the dyno.

NICK,

Just to give you a base line:

My 74211 cam with 1.6 roller rockers has a intake lift of .531 and a exhaust lift of .562. The older AFR heads flow at 240 at a .500 lift. I replaced the restrictive TPI with the SuperRam. And I am running the 24 pound injectors in the 85 with the tune from Tom Wong in Vancouver Washington.

John

My favorite topic - advice as always:

You only need 24# injectors for what you describe. I run a 434, 11:1, 7200rpm shift point with a super victor FI intake, runs 10.03@137MPH, 1.31 60ft times and only have 30# injectors at 48psi - ran 24# in there for years and car ran EXACTLY the same times with the 24# injector. Motor is making over 600hp - been now for 4+ years street and strip 200+ runs down the strip without a hickup.

Why would you need more than that?
