Default Don't want to get stuck by the horns

My 92 coupe horns were not working. Found the magic hidden fuses under the dash on passengers side. All fuses good. Disconnected and powered the horns individually and they both work well. Plug them back in and started thumbing the horn buttons pretty aggressively and bam, the horns blew. The thing is you have to use your kung-fu grip and in just the right position to make them work.

MY QUESTIONS: Where do you buy new horn switches for the steering wheel? And how difficult are they to change out?

Thanks Glenno

That is only the plastic covers. They don't sell the switches. Go figure.

In case anyone else is having the same problem. They have discontinued the horn switches for the steering wheel that comes in my 1992 Corvette. I located a guy that is going to pull them from a 1991 Corvette if they are working and will sell them to me. Price was not yet discussed. Going to see if they are any good before we figure that out. May have to run a hidden horn switch somewhere under the steering column if all else fails. Definitely have to have a horn!

Thanks for the heads up but no good. Apparently a salvage yard part as per corvetteamerica technical staff.

I fixed it. Removed the two bolts from behind the steering wheel and pulled the air bag center piece out and gentle rested it down on the bottom of the steering wheel as to not stress the wires. I then removed the left hand plastic horn switch cover. I observed that there were two contacts which consisted of two flimsy pieces of metal that press down as you push the plastic button causing the flimsys to make contact with another piece of steel below it. Well the bottom flimsy was dented in and not returning to its normal resting position. I pulled it off and low and behold the horns work great without it. So I left one flimsy out from the left side horn switch and didn't do anything with the right hand horn switch. So know I have three flimsys in and one out. All is working great now! What a relief!

I'm still going to check the other link you sent me.

Thanks Glenno
