'95 LT1 Kickback on Startup
Seen a few posts of this problem but no real solutions. Problem started recently (last few weeks - about the same time as my high idle problem, although probably not related). Problem symptoms similar to having timing set too far BTC. Seemed to be most prevalent during first startup in the morning. Car seems to run fine (for a 190K Vette!) so timing would not seem to be the problem. Starter is grinding now so assume that I have broken some teeth - won't know until I get under it this weekend. No codes have been thrown other than an ASR related one a few weeks back. Also, only had this one for a year and haven't been under it yet except to replace rear ujoints/hubs. Is the starter easily accessible or did Chev manage to bury it behind everything?

Nice to have some good news. Now, focusing only on this problem, I just have to figure out how to get the car up on my ramps - which obviously are too steep for the Vette. Might try the old '2x6 in front of the ramp' trick to get up high enough to drive onto the ramps.

My engine kicked back on startup because cylinder #7 had water in it. I found out by taking out all the plugs to do a compression check. When I spun the engine, water came out of #7 and left drops on the exhaust manifold shield.

The starter is easy to access. The flywheel or flexplate with the broken teeth isn't.
