Default Steam hole questions

Hey guys I've tried searching but only thing I really seen was 400 with them. First off I just did a SR install with Edelbrock base. I decided to keep it cause I couldn't find much on the subject. Now I'm about to put Ported TPI plenum ported SLP runners and edelbrock base on my brothers 88 Formula 350. Obviously his car didn't have steam hole but his new edelbrock base has the provisions for it. Should I put a steam hole line on or just leave it capped. Anything on the subject I'd like to know. Thanks.

We will also be putting a set of 113 heads on also just so you know.

Steam holes are in 400sbc blocks and their heads, they have nothing to do with the intake.

4 holes in each head around the Siamesed cylinders to let out any build up of steam. I cannot see where they would need to be anywhere else. I had my AFRs drilled.

Are you referring to the small hole in the rear of the intake gasket?

Yes the small hole on the back of the intake. I could of swore I seen someone refer to it as that before. I didn't know. That's why I'm asking.

The vent line from rear of TPI intake to the heater return hose.
Much debate on here as to it's functionality.
Supposed to be there to allow coolant to circulate from rear of the factory alum heads but as anybody
who has run aftermarket alums heads knows that is not a problem

...... That line/hose connects into the heater's suction hose to the water pump to help circulate heated water to the engine in an attempt to facilitate a quicker engine warm-up and to eliminate unwanted air pockets in the heater core and supply & return hoses ... if it was much larger , too much water would be diverted from the heater circuit making it less effective at heating the interior of the car ... it's helpful overall , but not a necessity .........
