is it a new compressor AND a clean system, or is this a semi-cheap repair without cleaning the system and the orifice or dryer? because whan a compressor fails it sends trash thru the whole system, especially the orifice tube. Dryer collects the rest, and plugs up the non-effective disiccant pack.

The right answer is 6oz for a clean system. 1-2 oz in each section, comp, dryer, condensor lines.
But, if you only did the comp, add 1oz to the comp, rotate it ten times with a wrench then connect and charge.
