Bad maf?
I have been chasing a bad idle condition for a few months on an 85. I have replaced cap, rotor, wires, spark plugs, o2 sensor, egr valve, egr soleniod, checked many times for vacumm leaks, catalytic convertor, new injectors. The prior owner replaced the maf shortly before I bought it. I rebuilt the motor 6 months ago. No codes are noted. It seems to run well above idle and has power with no missing above idle. It seems to hunt for a stable idle speed 550 to 630 rpm. I have set and reset the tps many times and have not had any real luck so far. Has anyone got any ideas that might help me?
Thanks

"Also When I disconected the MAF the motor died, is that normal?"
I never tried that. You should disconnect the MAF connector with the ignition turned off. Leave it disconnected and start the car (limp home mode). If your idle problems are fixed, then MAF is your problem.
