Default C beam need to be removed to install beam plates ???

Had the exhaust off.. And was thinking to tackle beam plates with the hurst Install while I'm under the car. Was looking at zfdocs instructions and can't determine if it should be pulled out to clean the plate surface or if I can reach up and do it?

I was thinking maybe to remove 1 bolt.. Put the beam plate on 1 side and hand tighten .. Pull the other bolt and the slide the be plate over the other hole.. But am not sure if the holes are elongated allowing for movement and adjustment ?

Tips appreciated

Not necessary to remove...easier, but not necessary.

You can pull both bolts on each end and do it all at once. There isn't anything moving the beam...so it's not going to go anywhere.

The only trick to the job is getting the original nuts off.
Clean the upper surface off real good .
Then enjoy how easy the assembly is with the new plates.

I've had my beam off a half dozen times and can't begin to guess how much time has been saved.

If my memory serves correctly it goes in as shown in the bottom picture. But there's only one way it will go in and seat properly.

Beam plates were cake. Was fun using a hobby knife to remove the yellow goo from the top of the rear c beam ! Taped a mirror to the floor and sliced away! Used the washers on the bolt heads at the front mount because the bolts go well through the top nuts of the plates. Didn't use them in the rear as zfdoc reccomended. Hurst shifter is installed .. Did a few mods to get it nice and snug and movement free. Almost stripped the drain bolt on the trans (torque wrench clicked at 140 lbs-ft and still didn't budge :/. Fill bolt loosened easy and I was able to top up with the Amsoil.

Thx for the input ! Now to finish the corsa.. The pick up headers next week and repeat putting the car up in the air again to do the clutch and headers !!
