C4 TPI PLENUM INTAKE RUNNER INSTALL
What is the best way to install the intake runners and plenum
to avoid vacuum leaks? What is the best gasket sealant? What
is the best torque sequence for the bolts so that everything seats
properly? I need to reseal the gaskets on my 88 L-98. I resealed
the manifold and it's fine but the runners must have a vacuum leak
because the car now has a lumpy idle. It will idle at 500 but it's rough.
I've already done all the procedures on the TPS, IAC, timing, etc.
They are correct.

500 rpm's is probably too low of an idle thats probably why the idle is rough. Try setting it to about 550-600 rpm's in gear or drive, that will smooth out the idle. To put the plenum and runners on, make sure you use new gaskets. Put it all together and snug up all of the bolts. Then tighten a little at a time, top and bottom until you are finised.
