Default Is it ok to use valvoline WITH limited slip

I want to change the gear oil in the manual trans in my 86 and had some valvoline WITH limited slip layin around. Is it ok to use the limited slip variant of this gear oil? Also whats the difference between gear oil and gear oil with limited slip additive? Thanks fellas.

The "limited slip" additive is for use in the rear differential.
You don't want to use that in your transmission.

I always thought the correct spec for the trans was GL4 and that the bronze rings didn't like the GL5 BUT I recall a thread not long ago and someone mentioned the FSM said GL5. I believe if it were ME I'd shop GL4 of the correct weight and I'd probably start at NAPA!!! I'd avoid synthetics for sure.
