They make a big difference once your hood is up it will support the weight of the hood making the scissor bracket obsolete, well almost it is still needed in case a sudden gust of wind hits.

How heavy is the hood supposed to feel? Mine feels like a 100lbs. (Lifting awkwardly) Is that normal, or are mine shot too? My hatch opens all the way by itself. Boy that would be nice if the hood did that! Lol. h

Has been well documented in the past

I swapped the 2 small hood struts with new ones from RockAuto (SACHS SG430011 $23 Shipped).
It made a significant difference opening the hood.
It's still a little heavy for about the first 25% when opening but the last 75% of motion is a lot easier.

I thought the OP's request was for maybe the mounting points for these struts and his interest was to add these to a later C4 - one mounting point is on the hinge and I thought his request was maybe for the other mounting point so it could be replicated to the later C4. Do I know? No.
I might be interested if you've got the time to do the snapshots and then accommodate the OP with an image of the struts.

Note the GM part number 14043065
A google search of the GM part number revealed that http://www.corvettesalvage.com has some for sale that should be original.

It is NLA but there's many pieces of stock on dealers shelves! There's no problem getting NOS for sure. Maybe he'll contact me.
Can you do a "snapshot" of the 2nd mounting point?

Thank you! and thanks also to VetteOz.
I've a fellow that's not close to me and mentions his doesn't have so now I've got a couple images to forward to him that indicate that they certainly should be there. It's someone I don't know well and he does struggle from time to time.
Thanks again guys!

And DO NOT loose the little keeper keys.... or you'll be SORRRRYY...;>)))... 22 bucks EACH !!... I was very lucky to find a couple. I had only 1 strut... on the drivers side, so I bought two new ones. Really helps out when lifting the hood by yourself...
