Canton oil pan?
Anybody running a Canton oil pan on their LTx? I am pulling the engine in my 94 for a cam swap, new clutch, new oil pump, and oil pan. I want to use a Canton 15-240t pan. My car is lowered 1.5 inches and I worry about ground clearance, which is the reason for having to replace the stock one.

Melting Slicks
canton pan = 7 inched deep = stock pan; plus there is more (bigger sump area) hanging down to hit.
as an aside, may I ask why you lowered your car 1.5 inches ?

I have the Canton pan and my car is lowered more than 1.5" (see signature). My pan does not hang lower than the front cross member so I dont have any issues. If things are hitting the pan it sounds like something else is wrong.

I have never seen a pan with a sump shorter than seven inches.

I bought the car lowered....it looks nice but really sucks to actually drive sometimes. EVERY speed bump, road kill, or driveway curb hits the spoiler. I've all but torn off the drain plug to my trans. The pan was dented on a detour for road contruction near my house when they kindly asked me to drive thru a graveled area that was none too kind to my car.
I have a set of Exotic Muscle long tubes to put on and I have a feeling they will hang lower than stock pan. If the Canton is more than 3/4" deeper than stock I will need to look for a different alternative. Stock ones are pretty pricey and the Canton has the advantage of larger capacity.
