Default Leather Conditioner for Shift Boot???

I'm epoxying some loose flaps on the center hole, and would like to soften the boot up a bit...OK; a lot...

Anybody have any suggestions???

I vaguely recall putting something on my baseball glove when I was younger...But don't recall what it was...

Someone at work recommended "Neatsfoot Oil" but I never heard of that...

...???...

Gliptone makes my seats very soft and smell like "leather"; it's sold by MAD and some local parts stores.

Also Megayer's makes a good leather conditioner.

Neatsfoot Oil is a leather conditioner. It will soften up the leather. Good for shoes, holsters, saddles and baseball gloves. Just look in the grocery store in the section with the shoe polish. You'll find it or the equivalent. The bottle I have is made by Kiwi. Let it soak overnight and then wipe of the excess. If the leather sucks it right up then apply another coat.
Don't use it on the seats. It'll bleed like crazy and soften them up too much.

For the shift boot, would you put it on the outside (smooth surface), or the bottom (rough side)???

"Neatsfoot oil" is neat (pun intended) I prefer to use "Lexol". I use it on the boot (outside-since mine is assembled) on the seats, door panels etc. They make a leather cleaner, a leather conditioner, and I see now they have a vinyl/rubber conditioner, haven't tryed it yet but they make a very good product, have for years. Used to only be available at leather shops, not alot of people knew about it, but now there stuff is everywhere ! ! ! ! :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:

Any good leather conditioner/treatment will work, I do a heavy coat let sit over night than remove excess. Once done retreat when you clean your interior.

SADDLE SOAP followed by MINK OIL. Both containers usually available in most shoe polish departments ($2).
