What fuel pump ?
I need to buy a new fuel pump just in case. My pump starting to be loud.
Some adviced me on walbro 255.
Do I need 190lph, 255lph ? or just install oem one ?
I read while searching that the aftermarket will take more current !!
What things should i consider about ?

If your car is stock there's no need for anything other then a stock rated ( 180 Lph) pump.. Wilbro is a good pump choice, and they make a kit for your car that includes a new wire harness for the pump, new bolts and gasket to install it , and a tube to eliminate the pulsator... Replacing the harness is a good idea since these cars are getting pretty old... Below is the kit that you need for your year.....WW

I went walbro on mine the 255 lph.
The kit was very nice to have especially given how old the wiring was on my car.
I'm also going to end up north of stock by a fair ways so when I had to replace mine I figured I might as well get the upgrade out of the way now.

I installed the Racetronix Walbro 180 lph fuel pump kit and found the fuel pump harness wires are Reversed.
A member here said they were reversed but, I wanted to see for myself so, after installing the pump and turning the key, No power to the pump!...
I reversed the fuel pump harness wires and the engine fired right up!
I don't know why Racetronix hasn't fixed this problem yet?...

If your thinking about mods in the future then go with the 255 Lph pump.. More fuel won't hurt anything, but it will be there if you need it.....As far as the wiring goes, it just snaps in, one end attaches to the new pump, the other attaches to the wire that comes into the tank...Its very easy......Wilbro says there 180 lph pump will handle up to 450 rwhp and the 255 lph pump will handle over 550 rwhp...
Here's a suggestion, when you install the new wires for the pump, use a few plastic ties to secure it to the metal tube so they don't move around when the gas in the tank moves..This movement can cause the wires to eventually break.......WW

Melting Slicks
I'd just go with the 255 while you're in there. I wouldn't install anything less than that given that you're going to mod the car a bit.
I actually had 2 of them in my tank for my mods.

I have the Wilbro 255 LPH pump in my 89 feeding a 383 and I have not had any problem with current draw for the 3 years it's been in.. It's suppose to be a plug and play upgrade..If you notice the stock Wilbro pump pulles the same amount of current as the 255 LPH pump....WW
Here's what their site says....
The 190L/Hr pump is capable of supporting approximately 450RWHP* @ 13.5V through factory lines. The 255L/Hr high-performance fuel pump is capable of supporting approximately 550RWHP* @ 13.5V through factory lines.....There are no wires to cut, crimp or splice. All connections are Plug & Play.

I always go OEM with fuel pumps, WAY too many bad experiences with aftermarket ones.

If you feel like getting especially creative you can cut some of the ends back and splice them together. No dropping of the tank or lifting required. The fuel pump and most of the harness that I'd worry about is in the tank, right under the filler.
Sorry if I'm late getting back to this thread.
